Something interesting was on the news a few weeks ago. Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin speaking to news reporters, asked a question, responded by speaking about the need of players to get their mojo working. Coach Tomlin talked about mojo power. Days later he went on the media and clarified that he did not believe in mojo power and he was  using it metaphorically not his words mine but he was he was a metaphor to people focusing on the work.

I just want to say that I have mojo power. I believe in mojo power. I get my mojo working and I get things done. Things go wrong when my mojo is not working for me. I have moved you power, and we all need to get our mojo working

I've have been a ralfing up the past.   The concept of catharsis has, and I am jocular, been through a lot.  You could say that anything that was cooked, eaten and barfed out, never mind from human disgusting interstices, but into a commode, and toilet, a...damn it...must I say it aloud...a shitter, would be worse for wear?   Fatigued?  Like, I'm fucking Jonah, I was just eaten by a huge fish, maybe a whale or a fucking grouper, the fucking fish puked my old ass out, I washed the fuck on Gilligan's Fucking Island, and now may old ass is weary.   Like an old prison ballad.   People used to think it would help if you talk about these awful things in your private life.

It doesn't fucking work.   People can emote all the fuck they want.  They're still not wrapped too tight.

I'm Very Busy Composing A Tract

I know these bugs.   They traipse from the rooms on either side of my immaculate, more or less sanitary  penthouse, under the walls and base boards, the gaps in both of which provide penthouses for the blood sucking, workmanly  insects.    I am.  One with all.  No friends or enemies.  The Lone Ranger Of Zen Buddhism.    Likes and dislikes have become so meticulously soft soaped it is no longer possible to pronounce words toxic to hopeless stupid people whose tolerance for diversity has, for ever, resulted in staunch authoritarianism and institutional intolerance.   Like the Church.  There is an escalation.  A grouping of them. At large.

I believe God sent me here to compose the Assholiads, a book all about people who are assholes.  There are so many.   Social science produced the famous book, the DSM 5, the boy scout manual of insanity, or how to identify the conditions certain assholes have.  Mental conditions that makes assholes out of them.  If nothing was wrong with being schizophrenic, there wouldn't such trouble treating the condition.  Sick people can be assholes to deal with.   Forced as I was, and I'll be barking about that, too, to accept life among the hoi polloi, have brain, no earning power, I'm a philosopher, in this country fucking near a death sentence, I'm retired to a subsidized high rise apartment building, and there is an epidemic of bed bugs.  The dirty people who live in apartments adjacent to mine are probably feeding the insects champagne and caviar.  The things come out of the fucking woodwork.   I wake to find them drinking from my ass.

Awake to find a blood sucking bug.   I'm contending here that I am among the few people who isn't an asshole.  Just a guy who didn't do too goddam well, and who has little better to do than to rewrite the social sciences to better meet common need.   Everyone is better off knowing as much as possible about people who are a piece of shit.  People who are an asshole.  It's laborious, but I am in the process of writing a book a about assholes.    A trillion pages isn't enough to fully enlighten all about this problem of people who are a piece of shit.

DARK SIDE new reading, with new music 10 14 2023

Here's Me Doing The Labor Lisp

It’s a drag being a prig, and some people have to accept the fact that they are one.  Can I get a pity party going here?  In my experience life gets better after fessing up to it.   It’s like religion, but economics also is loaded with contradictions and fallacies.  It’s hard to believe.   Labor strikes in the auto industry could be, in some ways, ominous.  And redundant.  There may be a repeat performance of boom and bust.

Cities such as Detroit and Gary, Indiana are legendary for economic booms and busts in the auto and also the steel industries.   History has it many people migrated from the South to work the assembly lines in Detroit.  Story has it these individuals developed vastly improved standards of living as auto workers.    Over time wages were driven up, and like a prodigal Saint Bernard in the Himalaya Mountains bounding sure-footed through deep snow, there were lay-offs and eventual plant closings.   The two cities cited here, Detroit and Gary, went from prosperous industrial middle class to laughing stock shit hole cities full of misery and urban blight.   I am being a big fat prig, just for now, I’ll get back to being lissome and cool real soon, but for now I weight 800 pounds and am talking like a dork.  My voice, like a trator, went nasal on me.

Evening news has it there are labor strikes in the auto industry right now.   Suppose we are running a big Xerox 1090 photo copy machine.   Are we seeing copies of bad economic behavior past being Xeroxed into reality, like all the shit over again?   Will dudes and dudettes earning good money now wind up eating store brand poodle chow in the near future?    Who knows.  I don’t.   I'm just being a big fat prig, for now.

Flash fiction, poems, visual art and recordings of all sorts.  That's what's being worked on here, at what used to be Rollicking Rowdy Enterprises.  I don't use a business name any more, it's me and several pen names, also a fairly well equipped studio.  I'm recording music using electric guitar, bass and percussion, a snare drum and a sixteen inch gong.  The gong was purchased at Goodwill for six bucks about thirty years ago, and, played with finesse, can work like cymbals.   The latest youtube recording is embedded below.

Have I met the individual?  No.  Are tangential things two people may (or it's delusional horse puckey) have in common worth your time, reading the rantings and blitherings of one lower ranking side of the observations?  Enough of my blatherskiting.   Pittsburgh Steeler coach Mike Tomlin was on the evening news talking about mojo power, as it is applied in professional football.   He complained that not everyone on the team has their mojo working, and this accounts for losing, for getting a lower score than the opposing team, as I have to explain points of philosophy with a fine tooth enigma machine.  I'm talking phenomenology here, ya'll.

Is there an avant gardist in the house, for crap sake?  I've given real, honest hard thought to the greater canon of mojo powers.  A mojo is a real or imaginary object that radiates supernatural power.  It is the crap of superstition and legend.   Delta blues musicians are thought to be numinous, case in point Robert Johnson's real or imagined relationship with Satan.  Blues singer Muddy Waters was among many who performed the rip-snorting torch song I Got Mojo Working.   I got my mojo working, but it just don't work you.

But, in any case, I got my mojo working.  I have talismanic objects, dead scorpions in clear lucite casing, glued to many of my electric guitars.  They give my Delta Blues greater mojo power.  Check me out on youtube.   I got mojo power.  And I got something in common with Coach Mike Tomlin.  We both speak of mojo power.   He's on the news, I'm writing this one horse squalid ghetto-like little blog.  Let  me leave you with the question, is mojo power a matter of scale, same as everything else, or is there meta-law and supernatural justice in voodoo?  What if people from all walks of life can be equal in mojo power, in spite of income inequality?   I'm giving all my mojo power to this dilemma.
